Wuthering Waves has a lot of exciting playable characters for the future. We are set to get Zhezhi and Xiangli Yao in update 1.2, and they will then be followed by Youhu and The Shorekeeper. All of these characters are anticipated, but one of the most anticipated heroines is Camellya. Unfortunately, a rumor suggests Camellya won’t release in Wuthering Waves until “after 2.0”.
The release date for Wuthering Waves update 1.2 is August 15th/16th depending on your time zone, so it’s only just a week away as of writing. As mentioned, we will be getting Zhezhi and Xiangli Yao as new playable characters, and leaks suggest we will be able to get Xiangli Yao for free through an event. In addition, we also have the PS5 release to anticipate, but there’s no PlayStation launch date yet.
While we are excited for Zhezhi and Xiangli Yao, as well as Youhu and The Shorekeeper, many fans are anticipating Camellya. It was previously believed she could be part of 1.3, but now rumors suggest she may not come out for a long time.
Camellya might not come out in Wuthering Waves until “after 2.0”
Via WuWa_Universe on Twitter, there is a rumor that suggests Camellya won’t release in Wuthering Waves until “after 2.0”. The citation for this rumor is UncleMQ, crediting Team Mew. As per WuWa_Universe, it’s “Questionable info, don’t believe it completely”.
Previous leaks have suggested WuWa might transition from 1.4 straight into 2.0. This isn’t official, but it’s what previous leaks claim. This implies 2.0 isn’t too far away, but, unfortunately, the rumor specifically states “after 2.0,” meaning there’s no ETA for when she will release, it just won’t be this year assuming the rumor is true.
Again, this is by no means official, so hopefully it isn’t true. However, all we know for now is that she’s not part of 1.3 as Kuro has confirmed Youhu and The Shorekeeper.
In addition to the Camellya rumor, the same post from WuWa_Universe implies the following for 1.3 and 1.4:
- 1.3: Jiyan rerun
- 1.4: OLD Chun was improved in (design, attribute and weapon), became a gun.
- 1.4: Paid Jinhsi skin, free Sanhua skin.
There is some confusion amongst the community about Chun and Camellya. Basically, the two of them are separate characters, and Chun is a repurposed old Camellya model. In a followup from WuWa_Universe, Old Chun is a gun DPS, via Uncle MQ, Team Mew.
