Wuthering Waves is currently near the end of version 1.1, and people are always looking ahead to what’s next in live-service gacha games. While we’ve seen leaks pointing towards the upcoming 1.3 banner characters, a new leak seems to suggest that WuWa will skip patches 1.5 onwards and make the huge leap to version 2.0.

A post titled ‘Version 2.0 will be after version 1.4 (no version 1.5 and 1.6) (via UncleBirdieWindow)’ was shared in r/WutheringWavesLeaks, and people aren’t sure whether or not they believe it. The post explains that people who have access to the game files are able to see information about upcoming patches, but it stops after patch 1.4.

Comments on the Reddit thread are mixed, with a moderator of the page sharing information that might disprove the 2.0 leak in question. The comments link to a Twitter user called Palito, who says: “I’ve seen a lot of people getting way ahead in the future with 2.0. Just because there is no branch currently for 1.5 does not imply that we will jump from 1.4 to 2.0”.

It would be significant for Wuthering Waves to go from patch 1.4 to 2.0, but it also isn’t outside the realm of possibility. 2.0 would be a great way for Kuro Games to add new content they want and these sorts of big updates typically come around after the game has been out for a year. When you consider how the game has only been out since May 23, it seems highly unlikely for the game to reach 2.0 when there is, arguably, much more to explore in Huanglong.

Herein lies the problem with leaks. Which one do you believe? Leaks are mostly guesses and aren’t always the most reliable or accurate things to point to. Outside of the information about the game files, there isn’t anything to suggest this will be the case for Wuthering Waves, but you never know.

This sort of practice isn’t unheard of in the world of gacha games. While not made by the same developers, Honkai Star Rail jumped from patch 1.6 to 2.0 and Genshin Impact has made the leap from 3.8 to 4.0 in the past.
