Wuthering Waves is the new big gacha game on the market. It has been a huge success since its full launch on mobile and PC, and it is now officially coming to PlayStation. WuWa developer, Kuro, made the announcement not too long ago, and Wuthering Waves fans think the PS5 release date might be imminent thanks to a massive update 1.2 leak.
There is a lot to look forward to in the world of WuWa. The release date for Wuthering Waves update 1.2 is this month, and a leak has shown buffs for Zhezhi and Xiangli Yao before their playable debuts. There are huge 1.2 leaks for the upcoming chapter, and there are also leaks suggesting we will get a highly-anticipated new playable character in update 1.3.
While we cannot wait for update 1.2 and following chapters, we’re even more excited for the game to come to PS5. Kuro hasn’t announced a release date so nothing is official yet, but a leak has fans believing the game could come to PlayStation during 1.2.
Wuthering Waves 1.2 leak points to PS5 release
On the Wuthering Waves leaks subreddit, OP KarlSQuent shared a post titled, ‘An Overview of WW 1.2 [STC] (Google translated so expect inaccuracies)’. The OP is the original source as they “Google translated all the pages in the link… so expect inaccuracies or missing translation, especially with kits and large numbers”.
You can check out the Reddit post as embedded below. It contains a link to over a dozen pages providing a complete overview of update 1.2 from character banners, Zhezhi and Xiangli Yao, to events and more.
A lot of the information is exciting, including another reference to Xiangli Yao being claimable for free during an event. However, what has gotten fans most excited is the mention of a release on PlayStation.
On the final page shared in the linked leak, there are bullet points saying “‘Ming tide’ officially landed on the PS platform,” and “Implement 120 frames option”. Seeing as these leaked pages are dedicated to update 1.2, fans are thinking that the PS5 release will coincide with the update.
There are many replies such as, “Wait what ?! Will it release on ps5 when 1.2 is released?!” and “Waiting for PS5 release. Hopefully it’s true that it will come with 1.2”. There are also comments suggesting that WuWa on PS5 would make sense with the Xiangli Yao free event. Comments also joke that Xiangli Yao has that “PlayStation drip” with how his attire is colored white, blue, and black.
Leaks did originally suggest that Wuthering Waves might land on PlayStation with 1.2, but it’s not official, and, unfortunately, right now it seems unlikely. It could happen or come out at some point during 1.2, but, as of writing, Kuro has not announced a release date and, if the leak were true, a launch day would have probably been announced already seeing as 1.2 is merely a few weeks away.
