Will there be a FIFA 24? It has been nearly thirty years since the release of FIFA International Soccer, the first game produced out of the partnership between FIFA and EA Sports. Since then the FIFA franchise has gone on to regular, annual releases and is one of the most popular games on the planet.

However, after a rather public split, EA has been forced to go out on its own. The EA Sports FC 24 release date has now been and gone, bringing an end to the FIFA era. However, the question: remains, will there be a FIFA 24?

Will there be a FIFA 24?

Regarding EA, no, there will not be a FIFA 24 game produced by EA. That is not to say there won’t be a FIFA 24 though.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino is quoted as saying “I can assure you that the only authentic, real game that has the FIFA name will be the best one available for gamers and football fans.

“The FIFA name is the only global, original title. FIFA 23, FIFA 24, FIFA 25 and FIFA 26, and so on – the constant is the FIFA name and it will remain forever and remain the best.”

However, since that first quote, Gianni Infantino may have inadvertently confirmed that there will in fact not be a FIFA 24. In a more recent quote in March, Infantino stated “the new FIFA game – the FIFA 25, 26, 27 and so on – will always be the best e-game for any girl or boy, we will have news on this very soon.”

This may not necessarily confirm FIFA 24’s non-existence, but it doesn’t fill us with confidence. Whether the game needs more time to be developed, or FIFA are struggling to find a developer willing to match their demands, we don’t know.

What is EA Sports FC?

One thing we do know is that EA Sports FC has arrived. All our favourite game modes remain in the game, including FC 24 Ultimate Team and FC 24 Career Mode. The full license portfolio has remained too, meaning we can still enjoy loads of authentic players, teams, and competitions.

In all honesty, the name is the only thing that has changed. While the game has gone through its seasonal enhancements, it is still the same game that we know and love.

There have been some great additions to the game too. Evolutions in Ultimate Team have certainly excited fans as a new way to improve their clubs. Career Mode and FC 24 Clubs (formerly Pro Clubs) have also seen changes too.

To find out more about the new game and its additions, check out our FC 24 review. We have spent hours in the game playing the various modes and experiencing the new features, and safe to say we have enjoyed it thus far.
