There are dozens of iconic video game characters and Lara Croft is arguably one of the most renowned and beloved since her debut back in 1996. She’s been a part of every PlayStation generation bar the PS5 so far, and she’s also been featured on the big screen while collaborating with several other huge video games. Her biggest video game crossover is undoubtedly with Fortnite, and this incredible Tomb Raider cosplay perfectly mirrors the famous Lara Croft skin that remains one of the most used outfits of all time in Fortnite.
It should be a good year for Tomb Raider fans. The series is now 27 years old, and fans are finally getting remasters of the original trilogy on Lara Croft’s birthday. In addition, although news has been slim, TR12 is officially in development and Magic The Gathering cards possibly show Lara Croft’s new unified model.
We cannot wait to see what the future holds for the British icon, but right now her most recent video game appearances have all been in other multiplayer properties. She’s been in Call of Duty, she’s been in Fall Guys, but most famously she’s been in Fortnite. Her Fortnite skin remains one of Epic Games’ most used outfits of all time, and this amazing Lara Croft cosplay perfectly recreates the famous attire from Tomb Raider 2013.
Amazing Tomb Raider cosplay recreates skin used in Fortnite
Tomb Raider collaborated with Fortnite back in 2021 to celebrate the series’ 25th anniversary. Since its debut, it has become the sixth most used skin of all time in the Epic Games’ battle royale. It’s the most used crossover skin, and one of Lara Croft’s outfits is a replication of her dark and gritty survivor look in Tomb Raider 2013. This look is famous for rebirthing the franchise, and this Tomb Raider 2013 cosplay from Instagram user schmink_acc_liekecoule is unbelievably good.
Based on the Definitive Edition of Tomb Raider 2013, the Lara Croft cosplay is flawless. The wig is a one-to-one recreation of the tied-back hairstyle in-game, and the face is remarkable as it looks identical to the Lara Croft face model used in Rise and Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Unlike the Fortnite skin, the cosplay is covered in dirt, bruises, and dry blood to more accurately replicate the grittiness of the survivor reboot.
Then there’s the outfit itself which is again flawless. All of the clothes are shrouded in dirt and dried blood from cargo pants to blooded tape to Lara’s blue tank top. What’s a really nice touch is the rips in the trousers and tank top that actually happen in-game the further you progress through the story. Lastly, all of this is topped off with the iconic green pendant given to Lara by Sam that will remain a part of the Tomb Raider unified design.
