Lara Croft is one of the most iconic video game characters of all time. She’s been around since 1996, and she’s starred in a collection of fantastic games for every generation of PlayStation bar the PS5 so far. As an icon of the industry, she has a huge following of fans who transcend even video games thanks to Hollywood movies. There have been different portrayals of Lara Croft on the big screen, but this amazing classic Tomb Raider cosplay even upstages Angelina Jolie’s iconic performance.

It’s been a busy year for Lara Croft fans. The Tomb Raider franchise celebrated its 27th anniversary in October, and there have been crossovers with Call of Duty as well as Magic The Gathering. Both collaborations were interesting as, even if you’re not a fan of the games, they possibly included the intended new Lara Croft model for TR12 that is currently in development.

While we cannot wait to see what’s next for the British icon, most of the fandom loves returning to the golden years of the PS1 era. If you need a rush of nostalgia, then this classic cosplay is simply perfect.

Instagram cosplayer Kalinka Fox is simply breathtaking in her shared cosplay of classic Tomb Raider. The Lara Croft portrayal is based on her appearance in the PS1 games such as the very first installment that came out in October 1996. It is a perfect portrayal rocking the iconic blue tank top and cargo shorts combination that many fans want to come back, along with the fingerless gloves and famous dual pistols.

It’s unfortunately impossible to see the boots, but she’s rocking the also iconic braid with perfect loose strands dangling over her face. Another perfect touch is the red circular shades that, unforgivably, were traded for boring grey glasses in Tomb Raider Anniversary. We haven’t seen these red shades in so long, but we will fortunately get to see them again when Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered comes out in February 2024.

Another impressive aspect is the makeup. Although hard to see, the shade and use of makeup on her cheeks give the impression of sharp model cheekbones. She also sports the holsters for her pistols, and the location of the photoshoot is astounding as it places her in the middle of a treasure hunt in the desert. Crystal Dynamics hasn’t taken Lara Croft to the desert in so long, so hopefully it’s something else that will return in TR12 as part of a globe-trotting spectacle.

As perfect as Angelina Jolie was in the Tomb Raider movies, the only disappointment was that the tank top and cargo shorts combination traded the iconic blue and brown for all black. It would’ve been nicer to see the traditional colors in the movie, and that’s an aspect of this cosplay that stands out. The color of blue tank top is visually eye popping against the dark brown shorts and dark red of her sunglasses.

Check out Kalinka Fox’s Instagram page for more astounding cosplays. She’s done really impressive cosplays such as Ashe from Overwatch, Jinx from League of Legends, and Ciri from The Witcher 3, as well as movie stars such as Margot Robbie from Barbie. In addition to her outfits, what makes her cosplays so spellbinding and immaculate is the makeup that makes her perfectly mirror the characters and actors she’s portraying.

In other news, there is already smashing cosplay for the new GTA 6 protagonist Lucia. This stunning Final Fantasy 7 Tifa cosplay needs to be seen, and this bewitching Baldur’s Gate 3 Minthara cosplay will give you the dark urge to kill tieflings.
