Rage 2 will deviate from its predecessor by bumping off multiplayer and co-op modes, co-developer Avalanche Studios has revealed.

Chatting with Eurogamer, Rage 2 designer Magnus Nedfors revealed that the barmy sequel will be a full-on single-player experience, which isn't surprising considering Avalanche is pretty dab hand at this sort of thing.

Frame rate fanatics meanwhile will be pleased to learn that Rage 2 will clock in at a blistering 60fps on PlayStation 4 Pro, PC, and Xbox One X.

'We're just focussed on the best open world single player game that we can make,' said Nedfors. 'I personally really believe you can make single player games really fantastic, so that's what we're focussed on.'

Rage 2 was doing its thing at E3 this week, and was accompanied by a head-banging performance by Andrew W.K. at Bethesda's presser. He also happens to be voicing a talking head in the game's Collector's Edition, which obviously makes it an instant buy.

The game is due out in spring 2019 for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One.
