The Finals Season 2 has been called one of the best shooters on the market today, with it bringing a new map, weapons, stabilizations, gadgets, and more. The new season brought a surge of players to The Finals, with it seeing the highest level of concurrent players since its initial launch. But, just a few days after the launch of The Finals Season 2, it appears that the hype has died off and the player count is rapidly declining again, losing 67% of its players in just four days.

Following the launch of The Finals Season 2 on March 14, the game saw an increase in players, reaching a concurrent player count of over 48,000, a large increase from the 10,000-22,000 concurrent players the game was averaging in the days prior. But, just four days later, The Finals dipped back down to a low of 15,000 for the day. While this is still a 5,000 increase compared to the lows it was seeing before Season 2, it is a 67% decrease compared to the peak on March 14.

It isn’t unusual for games to see its popularity drop again following a major update, a decrease this fast isn’t a good sign for the future of the game. But, players are still hopeful, despite the concerns regarding the recent changes to the Ranked mode. Many have blamed the game’s ability to keep players on the lack of marketing the game has, with it receiving very little advertising in terms of press coverage, advertisements, or influencer marketing when compared to larger titles such as Call of Duty and Fortnite.

Despite the player count decreasing, the perception among the community is that The Finals Season 2 is excellent and most players are happy with the changes that have been made.
