The Finals Season 2 brought with it a brand new map, event, weapons, specializations, gadgets, and much more. These new changes have been well received by players, with some calling it the best shooter available, leading to a significant boost in players over the past week.

However, one aspect of The Finals Season 2 isn’t resonating with players, with some calling it a “step backward” compared to the previous season. In a Reddit post, players discussed the changes made to Ranked mode in The Finals Season 2. One of the main complaints has been that there is no transparency regarding progression as players rank up. Previously there was a progress bar which increased as you got closer to reaching the next rank. For some reason, this was removed in Season 2 which has left players in the dark and unsure if they’re performing well or not.

Another main complaint is that the matchmaking system isn’t very accurate, with players from Bronze and Silver ranks regularly being placed with Gold and Platinum, oftentimes on the opposite team which creates a huge skill level divide and makes the matches one-sided.

With The Finals Season 2 just beginning, there is plenty of time for changes to be made to improved the Ranked mode and make the experience more balanced. But, some of the changes such as the lack of a progress bar appear to be intentional, so unless enough backlash happens from the community it is possible that it won’t return, which will certainly hinder the experience.

Despite Ranked mode needing some improvements, The Finals Season 2 is a fun experience that is packed full of new content.
