The Finals has suffered the past couple of weeks with its updates. Update 3.4.0 was delayed twice before suffering a lengthy delay exclusive to Xbox consoles, and update 3.5.0 came out later than usual, too. While weekly patches are appreciated, many in The Finals community are reporting that one of the bug fixes mentioned in the patch notes hasn’t actually been fixed, and Embark has responded.

You can check out the patch notes for update 3.5.0. In conjunction with this update has come a new community event which provides players less than a week to unlock a new free weapon skin. Not only that, but it has also finally brought update 3.4.0 to Xbox consoles, meaning PC, PlayStation, and Xbox players are all now up-to-date.

After a couple of frustrating weeks, fans are hoping normal services will resume next week. Not only that, but fans are hoping that the loading screen bug issue will be fixed for all players.

The Finals fans say loading screen bug hasn’t been fixed

In The Finals update 3.5.0 patch notes, Embark mentions “This week we fixed one of the bugs causing players to be stuck in an infinite loading screen”. Unfortunately, players are reporting that this hasn’t been fixed.

On Reddit, user boccci-tamagoccci posted a thread titled ‘Contrary to patch notes, infinite loading screen is NOT fixed‘. The post is accompanied by a video showing the dilemma in action:

Reacting to the video, many replies agree that it is still a problem. One of the top replies says, “So annoying, I haven’t been able to play a back to back match in like weeks,” and another reply says, “I’ve had it 12 times today, I gave up playing, so annoying”.

As mentioned by people in the replies, the patch notes were amended to “we fixed one of the bugs,” which means other issues causing the infinite loading screen glitch still exist and are likely being addressed.

Responding to complaints on Discord about the infinite loading screen bug still existing, Embark Oscar said, “Yeah I know, we’re seeing less instances of it so we got some of them! But not all”.

There’s no ETA for when the infinite loading screen bug will be fixed completely and for everyone. However, Oscar has said Embark “found a potential fix” for the PC controller bug introduced with update 3.4.0, and they are looking to get this fix in “for the 3.6 release, which would be Wednesday”.

Confirmation of an update for next Wednesday is fantastic news, but it’s always possible a last-minute delay could occur. Hopefully the infinite loading screen dilemma will be fully resolved, too, but many players would also like to see nerfs to Light as well as restoration of the CL-40.
