The Finals update 3.4.0 was easily the biggest since the launch of Season 3 with numerous buffs and nerfs to weapons along with slight changes to game modes and numerous fixes. While most of the changes have been received well, some in the community have reported a “terrible” bug. The Finals developer has confirmed they are looking into fixing this new bug players claim has appeared since the launch of the 3.4.0 update.

Unfortunately, the update is still not out on Xbox consoles with fans blaming Microsoft following Embark’s apology for the lengthy delay. While it is not live yet, one of the biggest upcoming additions confirmed by the update is the inbound arrival of the Emerald rank for Cashout in World Tour.

Fans are anticipating another update soon, and The Finals players on PC are hoping that Embark will soon fix issues involving aim assist with a controller on PC.

The Finals devs are looking to fix aim assist bug

Since the release of The Finals update 3.4.0, players on PC have complained about an aim assist bug involving controllers. On the game’s official Discord, fans have reported problems with AA on PC specifically.

On July 12th, players started reporting, “Controller on PC, after a singular game aim assist goes away causing me to reset [The Finals] each game for it to stay”. Many more comments echo the sentiment that “I get aim assist the first game I play after that my aim assist gets disabled,” with others reporting that it sometimes happens mid-match. One user branded the bug “A terrible gaming experience” while another user commented, “I really hope they fix this soon. Game is not fun on controller without aim assist…”.

Reports about this aim assist bug started to appear immediately after the release of the 3.4.0 update on July 12th, with Embark Oscar responding to reports on July 15th. Embark Oscar asked, “To confirm, is this only for controller players on PC, or does this also affect PS5 users?,” to which it appears to be an issue for PC only.

Lastly, Embark Oscar has said, “I’ve raised this properly with the team now, I’ll update in this thread if I learn anything”.

Unfortunately, there’s no ETA for when the issue will be resolved, but at least the developer is aware of the aim assist bug and are looking into it. There’s the possibility it could be fixed this week, but it may take one-to-two weeks instead.
