One of the best aspects of The Finals is all of the amazing cosmetics in the game. There are great cosmetics for characters, but there are also fantastic skins for weapons including a big mighty spoon. A ruby sledgehammer was recently found online and believed to be a leak, but, unfortunately, Embark has revealed that it is fake. However, in good news, they have confirmed that ruby skins are coming to The Finals.
The Finals Season 3 is currently pegged to start on June 11th. The first official Season 3 teaser has dropped, and, while the marketing hasn’t yet begun, we do know that we are getting a new map along with a new comms feature. In addition, fans should expect new gadgets and gizmos similar to the launch of Season 2.
Alongside more gadgets, there should also be some new weapons for each of the classes in the game. New weapons and gadgets will be appreciated, but we also cannot wait to see what amazing skins Embark deliver. The ruby sledgehammer may have been a very convincing ruse, but ruby skins are confirmed to be on the way.
Embark confirms ruby skins for The Finals
We previously reported about a leaked ruby skin coming to The Finals in Season 3. It was believed to be a leak, but Embark has confirmed that it is instead a very “impressive” fake, as shared on Reddit by MasterFish19.
Embark Dusy responded to the image on Discord by saying, “This is really really impressive! The person who made this has some serious skill and dedication. They went the extra mile to try and make it look like one of our items. But alas, this is not a leak”.
Embark Rob also responded to the image by saying, “THIS looks GREAT, and it’s so cool that the world think that your amazing art is a leak”.
In acknowledging the impressive artwork, Rob confirmed that there is not a ruby sledgehammer skin coming in Season 3. However, although we aren’t getting such a skin for Triple H’s favorite weapon, we will be getting other ruby skins that are “super cool” and “look really nice”.
No specific skins have been hinted at, but Rob has said that “we don’t use that much gold for ruby” and that “our renders have monochrome noise, we don’t have refraction on our gem-shaders”.
In addition to ruby skins, Embark has also teased that we will be getting a new ruby rank. This is not as explicitly confirmed as skins, but it appears very likely.
