The Finals is only a few weeks away from a new chapter. Season 2 has largely been fantastic thanks to the new map, weapons, gadgets, and modes it introduced such as Terminal Attack and PowerShift. While we still have a few weeks of Season 2 remaining, the first The Finals Season 3 teaser has dropped with Embark hinting at lots of new stuff in a huge update for the game.
As of writing, there is no new update out for The Finals. You can still check out the patch notes for 2.8.0 which is the most recent update for the game. One of the highlights of this update was the significant buff to melee weapons.
We should at least get a couple of new updates between now and the launch of Season 3. The marketing for the next chapter hasn’t begun yet, but the first teaser has arrived.
As shared on Reddit by user MasterFish19, the first official teaser for The Finals Season 3 has dropped. All it is right now is a glitchy screen with the message “Reboot Required”.
This teaser hasn’t appeared in game or on the official YouTube channel, but it has been shared on the CNS subreddit created by Embark. There’s not a lot to go off looking at the teaser, but some fans have speculated that maybe we are getting rid of CNS or perhaps CNS will corrupt another map.
Another user has speculated that perhaps the new map for Season 3 is Horizon but finished and no longer glitchy. It has been confirmed by Embark that we are getting a new map, but no details have been provided as of yet.
Other users have guessed what the theme of the next chapter will be about. One user commented, “It’s literally a Rising Sun. I’m guessing samurai,” meanwhile, another user commented, “The moon in the background is giving me some ominous vibes. I really feel like they may tie the story into the whole ‘simulation’ theory stuff”.
Alas, the teaser is purposefully really vague. But, judging by the comments, fans are hoping for a “real world map this time” along with more good weapons and gadgets.
In addition to this vague teaser, Embark Rob has recently shared on Discord that “There is a lot of really cool and great things in S3… it’s a huge update to the game, I don’t think you will be disappointed…. thanks for your support and make sure to play a lot before S3 so you are ready for all the new stuff”
As for what we know will arrive next season, we already know about a new map as well as a new comms feature fans have wanted since day one. Not only that, but we could potentially be getting a new rank.
