Tears of the Kingdom is filled with a diverse collection of colorful characters that make the game’s story one of the most memorable in the series. Though most of the screen time is predictably dominated by Link, Zelda, and the poor, mistreated Koroks, another figure has now come out of nowhere to steal the community’s unwanted spotlight: the signpost guy.

Ever since the game was launched, Zelda fans everywhere took to using the new Ultrahand ability to torture Koroks for their amusement. Unfortunately, this meant that many within the community probably didn’t bother learning how to help Koroks reach their friends, so many are still waiting to be reunited with their fellow forest spirits until now.

Luckily, the abusive portion of the player base has now turned their sights onto a completely different, yet equally unsuspecting target in Addison, the sign-holding NPC. If you’ve been playing Tears of the Kingdom as much as we have, then you may have already come across this character during your travels throughout Hyrule.

The signpost guy can usually be found propping up broken Hudson Construction signs because he is a huge fan of the president, Mr. Hudson. No matter the weather, you’ll always be able to find him beside a busted post, displaying his one-sided dedication to the construction company’s executive. Although this would typically be considered an admirable act by many, one player has instead decided to make Addison’s life a living hell by sending the signs he’s holding into outer space.

A Redditor named GrassWaterDirtHorse made this abusive act a possibility by attaching a wood board with one Zonai rocket directly to the signpost. The user then went on to tell Addison to let go of it, after which the rocket ended up launching into Hyrule’s airspace while taking the sign along with it. The poor NPC naturally became furious and told Link that what he did was “unforgivable.”

Alas, the cold-blooded, close-mouthed protagonist did not acknowledge Addison’s pain so they were simply left there without a sign to hold. Sadly, this may not be the last time that we see this type of torture as the Tears of the Kingdom community will more than likely band together to inflict more pain on the signpost guy once they get tired of manhandling the innocent Koroks.

If you don’t want to torture the Tears of the Kingdom signpost guy or the Koroks, then we suggest checking out all 15 Skyview Tower locations and shrine locations so you know where you can go next.
