That’s why, with such incredible secrecy, we’ve scoured for every scrap of information we can give fans on all the big news surrounding the next season of this emmy winning global hit.

Squid Game Season 2 Cast? Who’s set to play the game next?

At the time of writing, the Squid Game and Netflix teams have done a frustratingly good of stopping any secrets from escaping about who will appearing alongside previously confirmed returning Squid Game cast members:

Lee Jung-jae who played Seong Gi-hun/Player 456, and who, as a result of his incredible performance in Squid Game, is set to star in Disney and Lucasfilm’s next big budget Star Wars Universe series for Disney+, Star Wars: The Acolyte.

Also returning is Lee Byung-hun who played Hwang In-ho/The Front Man, the (initially) mysterious head who oversaw and ran the Squid Games in the series’ first season.

Before appearing in Squid Game, Lee Byung-hun was a highly successful and well known pop star who successfully transitioned to acting with Hollywood roles including both GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009) and GI Joe: Retaliation (2013). Where he memorably played the villainous C.O.B.R.A. ninja master, Storm Shadow.

He has also starred in some of Korean cinema’s most successful movies, including The Good, the Bad, the Weird (2008), Masquerade (2012), Inside Men (2015), Master (2016), and Ashfall (2019).

In addition to the returing Lee Jung-jae and Lee Byung-hun, there have been persistent rumours that Jennie of Korean pop superstars, BLACKPINK, could also have an, as yet undisclosed or confirmed, role in Squid Game Season 2.

Rumours which have only been inflamed by the pop star herself, a well known Squid Game super fan who has had close ties with the series even before it aired due to her friendship with actress Jung Ho Yeon who had a breakout performance in the show’s first season as Kang Sae-byeok/Player 067.

Of course, as soon as we find any confirmation that Jennie has joined the cast members list for Squid Game Season 2, we will have it broken down here for you along with any other cast member confirmations for the upcoming season.
