Warbonds in Helldivers 2 serve as monthly Battle Passes, giving players new weapons, armor, and various cosmetics to unlock. Unlike most other games, these Warbonds don’t disappear, so it doesn’t matter if you’re playing now or a year from now, you will be able to unlock these items, and you can earn the Super Credits naturally by just playing the game if you don’t want to spend extra.
U/ExoticBobcat777 took to Reddit to share a screenshot of a notification from their PS5 which may have accidentally leaked the next Helldivers 2 Warbond. In the screenshot, it states,
“Dial up the temperature to cremate our enemies of justice, Helldivers! The Freedom’s Flame Premium Warbond is deploying to your Destroyer’s Acquisitions panel. Includes fiery weapons, life-saving armor, cool capes, fresh emotes, player cards, and patterns.”
This isn’t the first time that Helldivers 2 has seen a fire-based Warbond, although the previous one was only based on fire in name only. Democratic Detonation garnered a lot of criticism for featuring no fire-related items including the highly requested fire-resistant armor. The next Warbond, Polar Patriots, also has very little to do with ice or cold apart from some armor being white.
Things did change with the recent Viper Commandos Warbond as it was jungle-themed, with its armor color palette, the stealthy throwing knives, camo weapon skins, and an emote based on the 1985 Commando movie, which was then topped off by the release of jungle planets and the Commando Rocket Launcher.
This is a step in the right direction and one that players had been hoping to see since Democratic Detonation. A fire-resistant armor has been at the top of many wishlists for months now, as it would make traversing planets such as Hellmire much more manageable. So far, there isn’t a release date for the next Warbond. They were supposed to be monthly releases, but with Arrowhead being on vacation it seems like the next one may be delayed. The developers are due to return soon so we may see it released this month. If not then expect it before the middle of August.
After the most recent Major Order being a success, it is time to continue to finish taking control of the Andromeda Sector as the new Major Order calls for the liberation of the remaining planets to further put a dent in the Automaton forces.
