PlayStation State of Play September 2022 – how to watch, start time

Proceedings kick off at 3pm PT, 5pm ET or 11pm UK time. You’ll be able to watch live on the PlayStation Twitch and YouTube accounts, or check out the embedded video below when it goes live.

As to what we can expect, Sony have promised “about 20 minutes of reveals, new updates and fresh gameplay footage for 10 games coming to PS5, PS4 and PS VR 2.”

The showcase takes place just as the Tokyo Games Show kicks off in Japan. As a result, the broadcast will mostly be focused on Japanese developers and studios.

Of course, God of War: Ragnarok is out in just a couple of months. Understandably, many expect it to make an appearance – but we’re sceptical given it’s a US production. We think it’s far more likely it’ll get its own dedicated State of Play closer to launch.

Instead then, we’ll expect stuff from the likes of Capcom – who we already know will be showing Street Fighter 6 at TGS. So that’s likely to make an appearance here too.

Of course, many fans would also like to see From Software’s Bloodborne make the leap to PC. While the PC isn’t mentioned in the platforms, it’s still a possibility. (As is a release date for the PC port of The Last of Us Part I.)

The PS VR2 mention may be the most intriguing prospect. The headset now has a release window of next year, but there’s still only a handful of exclusive games confirmed for it including Horizon: Call of the Mountain.

We did get the announcement of Firewall: Ultra last week, and we know Resident Evil Village & the Resi 4 Remake is getting the PS VR2 treatment. We think at least one of those last two are likely to show up tonight, but could there be more?
