God of War: Ragnarok, the sequel to Sony’s 2018 hit God of War is almost upon us now.
Kratos and Atreus will return as gaming’s most popular father-son duo, along with new characters such as Thor, in what is set to be the finale in Sony Santa Monica Studio’s epic saga.
The next God of War will see the duo battle hordes of fearsome enemies (including a giant wolf called Fenrir), monsters and more across mythical landscapes.
God of War’s signature simple but effective combat system will also return, with weapons such as the Guardian Shield coming back with aplomb. Interesting, the director of the first game – Cory Barlog, has passed the director’s chair to Eric Williams. Fans need not worry, though. Williams played a vital role in the reimagining of the God of War series, so Ragnarok will be in good hands.

God of War Ragnarok release date & PS4 to PS5 upgrade

The PlayStation 5 version costs around £10/$10 more than the PlayStation 4 version. Those getting the last-gen version should note that there is no free upgrade path, unlike in the other PS5 smash it, Horizon Forbidden West.
