Palworld is an absolute blast to play but even the most hardcore fans can’t deny there are plenty of issues that need ironing out. While a lot of the issues pertain to performance and stability, some of them are ruining the gameplay. Fans have found a huge Palworld ‘game-breaking’ bug that obliterates your capture rate and the community is demanding that it be mass-reported to Pocketpair.

Thanks to its overwhelming success, Xbox is partnering with Palworld to bring a heavily requested PC feature to consoles. The Xbox version is still way behind the experience on PC, but both have received significant updates with the patch notes available for 0.1.4.0 and 0.1.1.1.3. Because of its success, it always needs reminding that the game is in early access only with way more content bound for the future such as this secret Pal that resembles an iconic Legendary baddie from Pokémon.

While the recently released updates 0.1.4 and 0.1.3 for Steam and Xbox fixed a lot of issues, they didn’t remove this major bug where Lifmunk effigies reduce the capture rate.

Palworld fans find major bug reducing capture rate

Reddit user vinayyy_28 has shared a major Palworld bug where Lifmunk effigies actually reduce the capture rate. A video explaining and demonstrating this bug was uploaded to YouTube by Chalenor. Basically, YouTuber Chalenor found that, despite the fact effigies are meant to improve your capture rate, they found they were able to capture more Pals with no effigies compared to max level 10.

The YouTube video demonstrates the differences in capturing in similar locations and with similar Pals. By the end of the video, Chalenor was able to capture only 37 Pals with 63 escaping at max level 10 effigies. Without any effigies at all, Chalenor was able to capture 53 Pals with 46 escaping. This resulted in a final capture rate of 37% with effigies and 53% without.

On Reddit, many fans were completely bemused. One user said ‘I was legit frustrated that the capture rate wasn’t matching actual results‘. Many users expressed the sentiment ‘Let’s hope Pocketpair can fix this quickly because that’s an issue‘. Some users even went as far as claiming it’s a ‘game-breaking’ bug because there’s no workaround to getting rid of spent effigies other than starting a new game.

It is a significant bug with many people other than Chalenor noticing it. Hopefully, it gets fixed soon. As evidenced by the official roadmap, Pocketpair is prioritizing gameplay and bug fixes before new content, so the issue should eliminated sooner rather than later.
