Although easy for some to forget, Palworld is an early-access game. This means it has many bumps and bruises that need to and will be ironed out by Pocketpair before the full release of version 1.0. While many issues with the game involve performance, stability, bugs, and glitches, others include ill-conceived game mechanics. The game has a very vocal and passionate community already, and fans have agreed on a fan-pitched update to fix arguably the most annoying game mechanic in Palworld.

Pocketpair is consistently updating the game with the developer prioritizing bug fixes before additions. The official roadmap promises more islands and Pals, and Pocketpair has provided an update on how many more bosses are currently in development. While more bosses and Pals are exciting, so too is Xbox partnering with Palworld to bring a highly requested PC-exclusive feature to console.

The game is lots of fun and it will only continue to get better. There are many updates promised for down the road, and fans definitely want Pocketpair to update this one particular feature.

Palworld fans agree on Pal Facility Assignment update

On the game’s dedicated subreddit, user Ructstewd has created a Pal Facility Assignment menu that should be added to Palworld in a future update. This fan-pitched concoction would replace the current ‘pick up and toss to assign’ gameplay mechanic that lots of fans agree is very annoying and cumbersome. Below are all of Ructstewd’s issues with the ‘pick up and toss’ method the game currently employs for assigning Pal roles:

  • Finding a Pal at my base can be tedious
  •  Walking to the facility after crossing my base to get a Pal is tedious
  •  Large Pals hitboxes will often assign them to the wrong facility
  •  Pals can’t be picked up if they are currently performing certain tasks
  •  Picking up a small pall when a large pal is nearby is very difficult

In theory, using a Pal Facility Assignment mechanic would allow fans to easily open a menu to more simply assign Pals to individual roles such as breeding or working at the Stone Pit and Weapon Assembly Line. This would eliminate all of the cumbersome and frustrating nonsense that comes with having to find a Pal at your base, pick them up, carry them to a facility, and then toss them.

Many fans agree this would be a massively helpful update. Some of the replies point out how annoying the current assignment method is with Jetragons and Astregons especially frustrating to find and pick up. One user said they ‘love this idea, nothing more annoying than trying to make a ton of Palspheres only to have my Anubis nowhere to be found’.

For more Palworld, we have the patch notes for the most recent updates 0.1.4 and 0.1.1.3 for Steam and Xbox. We also have a guide to all of the cheats and console commands, and you should know about this secret Pal that heavily resembles Pokémon’s most iconic Legendary baddie.
