One of the most fun aspects of Helldivers 2 is causing as much destruction as possible, there is something satisfying about leaving a location full of craters and ruins. When it comes to causing as much destruction as possible, the Hellbomb stands above the rest.
U/LosingLuke took to Reddit to suggest adding a new Stratagem that would allow for a Hellbomb to be called down at any time. “I think it would be interesting if there was a Hellbomb booster, which lets you call down Hellbombs wherever you want,” they said.
“It would be useful for taking out enemies in stealth, clearing fabricators while you’re low on ammo or on a blitz mission etc, I also think it would be good for taking out factory striders during exterminate missions, and the sheer thrill you’d get from detonating a Hellbomb after CLIMBING ON TOP OF A TANK would just be an insane adrenaline rush.”
The Hellbomb is the most devastating Stratagem in Helldivers 2, and can only be used in select situations. These include when you need to destroy a specific building or a map as part of an objective. After being called down you must arm it and take cover before it detonates, destroying everything over a large radius.
“I think this booster would still be balanced due to the fact that Stratagem jammers exist, gunships are very hard to hit with Hellbombs and you’re using an entire booster slot for 1 weak Stratagem, not to mention it has to be manually armed.”
This could be a great idea if it had a long cooldown, such as 180-300 seconds so you can’t just call them down regularly. Instead, it could be used strategically to take out large enemies and objectives.
Speaking of strategy, the latest Major Order calls for the Helldivers 2 community to fend off the supply lines of the Automatons and “split the Automaton forces in two.” Although you won’t be carrying a Hellbomb with you on these missions, there are still plenty that you can take with you on your next mission.
