The Game Awards was a massive ocassion for the Helldivers 2 community. Not only did Arrowhead receive deserved nominations and wins, but they stealth dropped an amazing update that added the Illuminate and vehicles. While it’s great being able to drive a jeep in HD2 right now, Arrowhead has reaffirmed that there is an “upcoming MO” that will improve vehicles for Helldivers 2 players.
While the addition of the Illuminate is great, there are other exciting plans Arrowhead have for the new year. Leaks have revealed details about a dark eclipse event, and leaks have also revealed a crossover Warbond with Killzone. Nothing for next year is official right now, but Arrowhead are working on delivering a new content roadmap.
There will be many fantastic additions and events for HD2 in 2025, but right now Helldivers 2 has only recently added vehicles. They can only be found as random spawns, but that will change soon.
Helldivers 2 dev reaffirms vehicle stratagem for new Major Order
On the Helldivers Discord, community manager, miitchimus, responded to player uncertainty about how to permanently acquire the Fast Recon Vehicle FRV.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to permanently acquire the FRV yet as it can only be found on any planet with urban colonies as random spawns. The location of vehicles is highlighted on the map with a small car icon representing the FRV.
While this is the only way to acquire vehicles as of writing, that will soon change. Per community manager, miitchimus, “there will be an upcoming MO where you can unlock” the FRV as a stratagem.
Unfortunately, we don’t know exactly when the Major Order will be delivered, but it should be very soon. Once the FRV becomes available as a stratagem, players will be able to call-in a vehicle without needing to scour to find one around the map.
