Killzone is back, baby, but not in the form of a new game. Instead, Arrowhead Game Studios is working on an awesome Helldivers 2 Killzone crossover that brings the series’ awesome Hellgast designs to the popular multiplayer game.
With The Illuminate invasion now ongoing with new vehicles and urban environments and player counts skyrocketing, a new leak has revealed the first official crossover IP for the PlayStation series.
Helldivers 2 Killzone crossover
Revealed by renowned and accurate leaker IronS1ghts, the first crossover event in Helldivers 2 will see new armour and weapons coming to the game based on the Killzone franchise.
Dubbed “Righteous Revenants”, the Warbond brings the Helgast’s sci-fi fascist aesthetic into the also fascist universe of Super Earth.
After revealing a list of crossover IP Arrowhead would love to work on, it was confirmed that Helldivers players would receive some crossover content in the future. However, the crossover events would need to make sure they don’t take away from the overall brand of Arrowhead’s title
As it stands, a Killzone crossover is one of the best ideas for the series’ debut crossover. After all, they’re both sci-fi military franchises, they both focus on fascist regimes and they are both owned by PlayStation.
It’s clear that more crossovers are on the way for Helldivers 2, and we’ll probably see more PlayStation franchises make their debut in the game. As long as it doesn’t climb to Astro Bot levels, it’s all good fun.
