Gotham Knights, the upcoming co-op action game from Warner Bros. Interactive, will feature the biggest open-world Gotham yet.

In an interview with Game Informer, executive producer Fleur Marty said:

“For sure it’s the biggest version of Gotham that has been represented in video games. The most important thing for us is its density and verticality. It has a lot of layers. The Batcycle is the long-range mode of transportation.”

This isn’t all that surprising, given that there haven’t been that many open-world Gothams to date. Batman: Arkham City and Batman: Arkham Knight both feature fairly contained, but very dense and rich, environments. They didn’t really go for sheer scale, in the way that games like Assassin’s Creed Origins or Grand Theft Auto V did.

Elsewhere in the interview, we also got confirmation that multiple players will be able to play using the same character. The Fleur also made it cleat that you can play Gotham Knights solo, should you wish.

In other recent Gotham Knights news, we recently got a longer look at some gameplay, and at some of the magic powers in the game. Plus, it is no longer coming out the PlayStation 4 or the Xbox One.

The game is out on October 25th, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
