Dragon’s Dogma 2 is finally here. It’s been over a decade since the very first game came out, and fans have been eagerly anticipating a sequel for many years. Ahead of its imminent launch, a list of celebrity and YouTuber pawns you can hire in Dragon’s Dogma 2 has been revealed and they are all official pawns which means they come with added caveats.
The release date and time countdown for Dragon’s Dogma 2 is nearly over, and you can technically play the game this very second by exploiting the early access New Zealand release time trick. But, if you just wait for the official global launch hours, fans on PC get to play before PS5 and Xbox.
It has received rave reviews and it currently sits pretty on Metacritic with an overall score of 90 for PC. Almost everything about the game looks superb, and you could very well be able to hire your favorite YouTuber as a pawn to help you fight all sorts of monsters.
Official Dragon’s Dogma 2 YouTuber and celebrity pawns
Capcom has shared a list of official pawns. This consists of YouTubers and Vtubers, as well as celebrity athletes from the Japanese national football team such as former Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund player, Shinji Kagawa.
These official pawns are custom-made using the same character creator as all players, but they come with caveats listed below.
- Their name is displayed in a different color.
- There is no Rift Crystal cost when hiring Official Pawns up to level 10.
- Once hired, their equipment cannot be changed.
- They do not appear in certain features such as daily and overall rankings.
- Some may have a limited availability period.
Capcom says ‘You can hire these special pawns from the Official Pawns menu in the Rift’. You can find the list of official pawns for Asia, Japan, North America, and Europe on Capcom’s official pawns website.
Unfortunately, some are restricted to specific platforms. For example, you will be able to hire Shinji Kagawa on PS5, Xbox, and Steam, but Rob Pearson from PlayStation Access is exclusive to PS5, and MissMikkaa is exclusive to Steam.
There are also some official pawns yet to be clarified. While many are ready with platforms, pawn names, and vocations already established, others such as YouTuber Asmongold are listed as TBC. Some official pawns also come with expirations such as the Japanese national team players who will only be available until March 2025.
