The exhausting Diablo 4 grind to reach the level 100 milestone has been well-documented since launch as many within the community have often complained of the tiresome work that it takes to reach the top.

Now that we’re nearing the Diablo 4 Season 1 start date, however, it appears the monotonous slog is beginning to affect players physically as several fans have reportedly started falling asleep while playing the game. In addition, most of the comments under a particular Reddit post indicate that this has become a common occurrence.

The thread in question, which was posted on the Diablo 4 subreddit by a user named Qahnarinn, simply asked other players whether they also happened to doze off while playing. The author would note that this is the only game that has made them consistently fall asleep, though they would mention that this might be because they don’t usually have a group to play with.

One responder, however, suggested that the post creator’s tendency to nod off had nothing to do with their solo play preference because one of their own party members similarly fell asleep after five minutes of running through a Nightmare Dungeon. Another commenter, on the other hand, shared a similar experience as they said that they “start bobbing for apples after an hour, doesn’t matter the time of day.”

Of course, the Diablo 4 community’s proclivity for falling asleep while playing is by no means a knock on the game as many within the same post have also said that the story, combat, and overall design is brilliantly done. However, some have suggested that the game’s monotonous music and muted colors may be the main causes for this occurrence as these factors can often combine into a white noise-like substance that, if left long enough, will have you head banging like a rock concertgoer.

With that said, if you don’t want to experience this Diablo 4 phenomenon for yourself, we suggest checking out our guides on the Fury Against Fate quest, the best dungeons to farm, and all Stronghold locations so you won’t run out of things to do in Sanctuary.
