Death Stranding Director’s Cut is coming to PC this Spring

505 Games and Kojima Productions have announced that Death Stranding Director’s Cut will be heading to PC this Spring.

Originally released for PlayStation 5 back in September, the Director’s Cut enhances the 2019 “social strand” adventure starring Norman Reedus. This version will include many of the additional features from that, but also some PC-specific tweaks. These include “high frame rate, photo mode and ultra-wide monitor support”. There’s also a new machine-learning graphics technology from Intel called Xe Super Sampling (XeSS for short).

If you missed it on the consoles, the Directors Cut also includes an overloaded backpack-full of new additions to the game. They include a jetpack, a cargo catapult and a Buddy Bot to help you carry those packages. There’s also a new firing range, a new Mazer Gun and other weapons, and even a ‘Fragile Circuit’ racing minigame, as you do.

505 has also promised that this version will also include the PC-exclusive DLC from the game’s original release. Namely, that’s the Half-Life crossover headcrab and the Cyberpunk 2077 DLC that also features a couple of bonus missions. Lovely stuff.

There’s no specific date just yet, but Death Stranding Director’s Cut will launch on the PC simultaneously via the Epic Games Store and Steam when it does. The game is currently pencilled in for a ‘Spring 2022’ launch on PC.
