Call of Duty has announced the arrival of another collaboration, this time with the treasure hunting protagonist of the storied Tomb Raider franchise, Lara Croft. Though a release date is yet to be provided at the time of writing, this crossover will likely be introduced as part of Season 5 Reloaded after PlayStation had initially hinted at the heroine’s inclusion in a previous blog post.
Ahead of the Modern Warfare 3 release date, Activision and Infinity Ward are continuing to bombard the 2022 series installment with more crossovers as players continue to purchase every mainstream skin that makes its way into the game. And with the Tomb Raider franchise already being as popular as it is, this partnership will surely be another hit as fans will likely swarm the CoD store as soon as it gets released.
As mentioned before, though, this may not be much of a surprise for fans that have been tuning in to the avalanche of recent CoD-related announcements since PlayStation had already mentioned the crossover in a past blog post. In it, Activision writer Daniel Noel stated that fans would be able to “play as the legendary treasure hunter and video game icon Lara Croft in a new Operator bundle arriving in the mid-season.”
With this in mind, a Season 5 Reloaded launch seems likely as the developers will be attempting to follow up the success of their 50th anniversary of hip-hop crossover with another beloved video game character partnership. For now, details remain scarce on what this bundle’s price will be along with its contents, but based on past partnerships, this will likely cost around 2,400 CoD points as well.
