The Tears of the Kingdom Soryotanog Shrine, also known as the Buried Light puzzle, is in a great location for travelling to the Gerudo Desert, and is a great introduction to some of the mechanics you’ll use as part of the Gerudo storyline in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.

This will be an important stop-over point for your journey to the Tears of the Kingdom Lightning Temple, so get your Tears of the Kingdom Ultrahand ready and let’s go through the Tears of the Kingdom Soryotanog Shrine step-by-step.

Soryotanog Shrine walkthrough

Head into the first room and you’ll see a Zonai Fan in a pile of sand. Use Ultrahand to pull the fan out, and hit it to turn it on. Pick it up and point it towards a pile of sand to clear it. Clear the sand on the far left side of the room to reveal a treasure chest containing a small key. Open the door on the right side of the room and head to the next section, bringing the fan with you.

Drop the fan and defeat the Construct you come across in this room. Pick up the fan again, and head around the corner to the far right of the room where you’ll see another sand pile in the corner. Clear it, and crawl through the gap you find, leaving the fan behind.

Here, clear all the piles of sand with the new fan you find. In one pile will be a Construct. Defeat it and pick up the Fan Guster it’s holding. This will let you clear piles of sand using melee attacks. Place the fan at the back of the room pointing upwards, and use your paraglider to fly to the ledge above. Use your Fan Guster to clear the sand blocking the large cog to open the door next to it. Inside is a chest containing 10 arrows.

Return to the main room, and head to the left side where you’ll see a ledge above you. Use Ascend to climb through it and proceed to the next room. Defeat the Construct you find here, and use your Fan Guster to clear all the sand piles. Here you’ll find a beam of light and a mirror. Place the mirror in the beam of light so that it reflects the light back to the main room.

Return to the main room, and use Ultrahand to pick up the mirror you find here. Hold it in the beam of light, rotating it so that it reflects the light at the large orange hexagon above the door. Once it’s charged, the hexagon will turn green and the door will open. Head through and interact with the Shrine to receive your Light of Blessing.
