The Tears of the Kingdom Orochium Shrine might be the first Shrine that really stumps you. It’s a good introduction to how some Shrines in The Legend of Zelda TotK require outside of the box thinking to solve puzzles and get that Light of Blessing at the end.

You’ll need your Tears of the Kingdom Ascend ability and Tears of the Kingdom Ultrahand ability to get through this Shrine, so brush up and we’ll take you through the Tears of the Kingdom Orochium Shrine step by step.

Where is the Orochium Shrine located in Tears of the Kingdom?

The Tears of the Kingdom Orochium Shrine location is in the Tabantha Tundra. This is located in the Hebra Mountains region in the northwest of the map, right next to the Snowfield Stable. The coordinates for the Orochium Shrine are -1636, 2641, 0239.

Tears of the Kingdom Orochium Shrine walkthrough

In the first room, you’ll see a large door directly in front of you. Open the door using Ultrahand and you’ll see a wall of lasers blocking your path. Don’t touch them, as the floor will open and you’ll fall and take damage. Instead, go to the left and follow a path around the corner.

You’ll find a Soldier Construct here. Defeat it, and continue to the end of the path where you’ll find a pillar attached to the wall on the right. Use Ascend to reach the top of it, and then climb the ladder in front of you. Crouch down and walk through the small hole in the wall to your right.

On your right, you’ll see a drop with a Construct down below. Drop down and defeat it. Around the corner you’ll see a flight of stairs. Walk past the stairs to the far corner and defeat another Construct. Open the chest in the corner to receive five arrows.

Now walk up the stairs and open the door using Ultrahand. This time, touch the lasers intentionally. This will open up the floor and drop you onto a floor below. Walk down this corridor and avoid the lasers where necessary. At the end of the corridor, you’ll find a ledge. Use Ascend to reach the top, and open the chest waiting there to receive a small key. Use Ascend again to return to the floor above.

Make your way back to the room where you touched the lasers and you’ll find a small room with an orb inside. Use your small key on the green locked door to open it, and pick up the orb. Return to the area behind the room with the orb, and on either side, you’ll see a platform moving up and down. Climb onto one of these platforms with the ball and get off at the top.

On the top floor, follow the path and you’ll find a hole in the floor. Place the orb in here to open up the gate next to it, containing a Zonai Wing with two fans attached. Use Ultrahand to stick the orb to the Zonai Wing, and place the Wing on the rail leading in the direction of the Shrine entrance. Hit the fans and ride the Zonai Wing all the way back to the start of the Shrine. Once you land, detach the orb and place it in the hole in the floor you find on the right side of the room to open the final gate. Walk through and interact with the Shrine to complete it.
