Where to find The Datura in Starfield

First things first, you can only find The Datura through the Top Secrets mission in the Ryujin Industries faction quest line. Join the faction on Neon and progress the quest line until you reach this quest, during which you meet Ularu Chen who, along with Imogene, will send you to meet with a man named Simon Ryzcek in Cydonia on Mars to obtain the Project Dominion files.

Talking to him, confirm your identity by selecting the ‘Razor derby is the only real sport’ option. He will offer you some information, but only if you’re either willing to pay 10000 Credits or complete a side job for him. You must select to hear about the side job. You’ll then receive a new objective telling you to head to The Datura in Saturn’s orbit in the Sol system.

Once in the orbit of Saturn, The Datura will send you a transmission. To board the ship, choose the following dialogue options in this order:

  1. Are you looking for a man named Simon Ryczek?
  2. I’m here to save your life.
  3. I can stop Simon Ryczek from hunting you.
  4. Simon will stop if he believes you’re dead.
  5. Simon wants your gun as proof of death.

After this, the NPC on The Datura, Malai Liskova, will invite you to dock with the ship to collect the Ember pistol as proof of her death. You can use the persuasion skill to take the gun from Malai to complete the quest, but to steal The Datura, you must attack and kill her. Once she’s dead, simply sit down in the cockpit and pilot to a nearby planet to register the vessel at a Ship Services Technician, and bring the gun back to Simon to finish this Ryujin Industries mission.

As far as free ships go, The Datura is certainly no pushover, and is a fair bit better than the Frontier if you’re still using that. But saying that, you won’t be missing out on much if you choose not to steal it. It can hold four crew members, has 17 grav jump range and fairly average combat stats, making it a slight upgrade on your original ship, but it’s easy to find much better ships out there.
