After the Starfield stolen safe key location the Retrofitted Starstation near Jaffa VII-c? During the closing chapters of the Failure to Communicate side quest, you’ll board the Retrofitted Starstation to clear out the remaining spacers bothering Alban and the system’s other farmers.

Starfield stolen safe key location on Retrofitted Starstation
The Starfield stolen safe key is located on the floor above the lockers, specifically on the central desk of the central command room.
With the lockers in front of you, turn around, and take a left out of the room. Take the stairs straight ahead of you and take a left at the top. Enter the command room. The stolen key is on the far end of the desk at the centre of the room, next to a Grunt Issue 08 magazine (which is worth picking up as it grants a permanent 5% critical damage boost to ballistic weapons).
Top Tip
You should always pick up these skill magazines as they give you permanent skill buffs. However, once you begin new game plus, you will need to collect each one again.
Go back to the room below containing the safes and crack them open up the stolen safe key. Inside, you’ll find a selection of lootable items, including credits, ammunition, med and trauma packs, food, and weapons. The contents vary as they are random, but are generally worth the effort of tracking down the stolen safe key.
