Are you wondering how to use the Remnant 2 Override Pin? You might have picked this up on your travels across N’Erud and be wondering what it does, and where to use it. No matter where you go, it seems like there’s just no use for it, and so it just sits in your inventory gathering dust. That’s why we’re here to help you out and put that Override Pin to good use.

While you’re on N’Erud, be sure to check out how to unlock the Engineer archetype in Remnant 2. And if you’re feeling low on scrap, take a look at our how to get scrap fast in Remnant 2 guide. With that, let’s go through how to use the Remnant 2 Override Pin.

Where do you get the Override Pin in Remnant 2?

The Override Pin can be found in a large tower in Timeless Horizon on N’Erud. It’s one of the quest items for N’Erud. Most items tend to be received from a particular named dungeon or location, but in this instance, the tower itself is unnamed, so it might not be able to find it right away. Once you’re in, make your way through, defeating any enemies you find until you reach an elevator. Take the elevator up, and you’ll find a statue similar to the ones where you find the Seeker’s Keys. Here, you’ll find the Override Pin.

How do you use the Override Pin in Remnant 2?

The Override Pin is used before the boss fight with Sha’Hala: Spectral Guardian of N’Erud during the Seeker’s Rest questline, in order to get a special reward after completing the fight. Once you’ve found all the Seeker’s Keys and gained access to Sentinel’s Keep, you’ll eventually reach the top of the keep where Sha’Hala awaits.

You’ll be asked to interact with a terminal to give The Custodian control of the planet’s core. This will begin the boss fight with Sha’Hala, so don’t do this yet. Before interacting with it, use your Override Pin on the console. Once you’ve done this, begin the fight and defeat Sha’Hala. If you used the Override Pin before the fight, you’ll receive the Void Cinder, a material which can be crafted into the powerful Long Gun Aphelion.

Aphelion is a highly accurate, high-damage, medium-range weapon, and can deal huge DPS if used in the right way. Its weapon mod, Supernova, fires a blast which explodes on his, dealing 150 fire damage and inflicting 350 burn damage over the next 10 seconds to any enemies within 4m. This can easily take care of large groups of enemies, and definitely has its uses against bosses, too.

Be aware that if you use the Override Pin, you’ll be sent straight back to Ward 13 after the boss fight, and you won’t be able to return to N’Erud, so finish off any business you have before this. This also means you won’t be able to finish The Custodian’s quest, meaning you’ll have to return in adventure mode or during a future campaign re-roll.

Alex’s Advice

Don’t worry too much about not completing The Custodian’s questline. You can re-roll your campaign later and complete the quest at another time if you’re planning on 100% completion.

You can also keep the Override Pin and use it later to receive a unique relic. Head to Losomn and find the Nightweaver’s Web in the Tormented Asylum, the same location where you offered the Nightweaver Stone Doll to receive the Dreamcatcher melee weapon. Sacrifice the Override Pin, and you’ll receive the Tormented Heart, which provides a 20% use speed bonus, and deals 240 explosive damage, lifestealing 25% of the damage dealt.

That’s everything you need to know about how to use the Override Pin in Remnant 2. If you’re looking for a good way to put Aphelion to use, our Remnant 2 Gunslinger build is a perfect fit. And if you’ve heard the rumours and are wondering if you can unlock the Remnant 2 Archon archetype yet, our guide has the answer.
