Looking for the best Remnant 2 Invader build? The Invader archetype is one which focuses on more tactical gameplay. If you’re running headlong into danger with the Invader, you probably won’t get very far, but if you can put its perks and skills to good use, the Invader has a huge skill ceiling, and you can do a huge amount with it.

If you’re starting out with a new character and want to reach level 10 quickly, our how to level up fast in Remnant 2 guide will help you out. And if you’re looking for tips on what weapons to use, we have a guide to the Remnant 2 best weapons. For now, let’s take a look at the best Remnant 2 Invader build, and how you can unlock them for yourself.

Remnant 2 Invader build: The Invader archetype

Best Invader build in Remnant 2

The best Invader build is:

  • Invader Skill – Reboot
  • Dual Archetype – Summoner
  • Dual Archetype Skill – Minion: Hollow
  • Long Gun – Nightfall
  • Hand Gun – Sorrow
  • Melee Weapon – Spectral Blade

This build is centred around the Invader’s Prime Perk, Shadow. As well as casting a decoy every time you use an Invader skill, it also deals additional damage to enemies that are not targeting you. By taking the Summoner dual archetype, you gain access to the ability to summon monsters, which can also take the attention of enemies, giving you the chance to deal a lot of extra damage.

Your Reboot skill saves a copy of you, which you can return to at any time in the next 30 seconds. This means you can use Reboot to save a copy of yourself, use your Summoner skill to summon two minions, which costs 15% of your max health each, and then re-activate Reboot to return to full health, spawning a decoy in the process.

Once your minions and decoy are out, let them take the enemy aggression, before finishing them off from afar. Sorrow can be a good choice for individual targets as it lets you regain your ammo, while Nightfall’s weapon mod, Dreadwalker, can deal with large groups of enemies or bosses.

Your reboot has a 55-second cooldown, so if you’re in a long fight, make sure to use it as soon as you can to ensure you always have some minions on the field. If you want, you could swap out Sorrow for another weapon, and use a weapon mod such as Familiar, Rootlash, or Space Crabs, to generate even more minions to draw attention away, but this depends on whether you prefer higher damage, or more distraction.

How to unlock the Invader in Remnant 2

Before you can unlock the Invader in Remnant 2, you first need to have obtained the Dreamcatcher melee weapon. If you haven’t yet, our Remnant 2 Nightweaver Stone Doll guide goes through exactly how to do it, so follow the steps outlined there and return here once you’ve got your hands on it.

Remnant 2 Invader build: The Dreamcatcher inspect screen

With the Dreamcatcher equipped, you need to head to the final biome, Root Earth, and to the Corrupted Harbor area specifically. Here, you’ll find a cargo ship. If it’s your first time going through, progress through the level until you reach an open area where you’ll have to defeat a horde of enemies. Once they’re beaten, head to one of the corners of the room on the ground floor, and you’ll see a passage that leads to a clearing outside.

Remnant 2 Invader build: The player in front of the pod

You’ll have to fight off some more enemies in the clearing, but once you do, head over to the pod sitting in the middle. Grab the Escalation Protocol from its head, and then with your Dreamcatcher, attempt to hit the pod. You’ll obtain an item called the Walker’s Dream. Equip this to your hotkeys and use it to be teleported to an alternate version of the Corrupted Harbor.

Remnant 2 Invader build: The player fighting the Bane boss

Here, you’ll find a boss called Bane. It has the same attacks as the aberrations you’ve fought before but will summon mobs to attack you, so be careful. Take it out as quickly as you can and you’ll receive the Wooden Shiv. Head back to Ward 13 and talk to Wallace, who can exchange it for the Serrated Root Blade, unlocking the Invader archetype.
