If you spent some time wandering around searching for a code to enter, you’re not alone, but it turns out that the code was a lot closer than you might have thought.

Ford’s chest code solution
The code to Ford’s chest isn’t found anywhere in the overworld, but actually on something that he gives you at the start of the game. When you arrive in Ward 13, he gives you a flashlight. Inspect the flashlight, and if you turn it around so you can see the bottom, you’ll see the code 0415 etched into the metal.
Head to Ford’s office on the second floor of the central building of Ward 13, and you should see the chest marked on your map with a purple dot. If you haven’t completed the tutorial, you won’t be able to unlock it yet, but if you skipped the tutorial, it can be unlocked from the start. Open it up to find the Cargo Control Key.
Take the key and head towards the shipping containers at the far end of Ward 13. There will be a small path through the containers, which leads to a green, rusty door. Open the door with the Cargo Control Key, and head inside to find the MP60-R Handgun, one of the best guns in the game.
If you started as the Summoner archetype, you’ll actually begin the game with this gun. Picking up the gun will instead grant you a free upgrade to the MP60-R you already have, so even if you’ve got the gun already, it’s still worth going and grabbing this one.
