How Many Storylines are in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Although the game starts off by introducing you to three storylines, those being Victory Road, Starfall Street, and Path of Legends, when the player completes all three of these, a final storyline called A Way Home gets unlocked.

To make this article more organized instead of a convoluted mess, we’ll be going through the key points of all four of these storylines individually.

Victory Road

The first storyline we’ll be going through is the Victory Road one, which is the closest possible to playing a good old fashioned Pokémon game. You simply go to every city or town to defeat the gym leader and collect the gym badge, all the while fighting your rival, Nemona.

Speaking of Nemona, she’s a champion level trainer who pulls an Ash Ketchum and resets her team, giving her a valid reason to grow with the player. Something unique about this game is that there can be several champions for this region, but the final champion fight is still against Geeta, who fills the role of a traditional champion from the older games. After beating Geeta and becoming champion, you and Nemona fight one last time after which this storyline ends.

Starfall Street

While other games had team Rocket, Team Aqua, or some other evil organization, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have Team Star, which is just a team of delinquents. You go around taking down all the commander level enemies who end up having flashbacks that make them sympathetic.

In the end, Professor Clavell reveals himself to be the boss of Team Star, Cassiopeia, but after defeating him it turns out the actual boss is Penny, a student we had saved to start this storyline in the first place.

Path of Legends

Many consider this to be the best storyline in the game, as it has players help the Professor’s child, Arven, defeat Titan Pokémon. After every Pokémon we defeat, we see Arven with a shadowy figure, who ends up being his Mabosstiff who he is helping recover from an injury it obtained when searching for the Professor led to a fight with a feral Pokémon in Area Zero.

After defeating all the titan Pokémon, we battle Arven one last time as he wants to see if we’re strong enough to venture into Area Zero to save the Professor.

A Way Home

Speaking of Area Zero, when we clear all three storylines, we go into Area Zero where we have to face several frenzied Pokémon from either the past or the future (depending on your version). At reaching the end, we find out that the actual Professor, who had built a time machine, had been killed by these said frenzied Pokémon and had been replaced by an AI version, who the final fight is against.

Of course, a Pokémon game can’t be complete without a battle between the different versions of legendary Pokémon. As such, the AI Professor has the legendary Pokémon opposite to your game version’s legendary.

Final Thoughts

All in all, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have very entertaining storylines, especially A Way Home, which is much more mature than the typical Pokémon game’s storyline.
