Arven is one of the characters at the academy. At first, he’s hopeless at Pokemon battles. But, as the story progresses, he becomes much stronger. In fact, he becomes so strong that he becomes the final character to defeat in Scarlet and Violet’s story mode.
How to Find Arven
Finding Arven is actually pretty simple. Once you’ve progressed to the last mission in the story, Arven will agree to meet you at the Poco Path Lighthouse laboratory. You’ll be able to fly there and open the door, which will start the final mission.

How to Beat Arven
Beating Arven isn’t going to be easy. He’s got a very strong lineup, so you’ll need to bring your strongest Pokemon with you, or you won’t stand a chance.
Here’s a list of all the Pokemon that you’ll have to take on when facing Arven:

| Mabosstiff | 63 | Dark | Bug, Fairy and Fighting |
All of these Pokemon are pretty tough, but Mabosstiff is going to be a particular challenge. Bring a strong fairy type to counter this Pokemon, for maximum effect.
A good fighting type Pokemon should be able to deal with Greedent and Gargancl, as well as Cloyster. As for Scovillain and Toedscreul, take a flying type for a strong counter. For backups, we recommend a grass type and any of your other most powerful Pokemon.

If you want to stand any chance of beating Aven, you should level up all of your Pokemon to level 60 before commencing the battle. This should give your Pokemon the base stats and abilities to withstand Arven’s strength.
Finally, it’s a good idea to take some consumable items to give you the upper hand in battle. You’ll be surprised at how effective a lum berry or two can be in a pinch. Once you defeat Arven, you’ll receive 12,600 coins as a reward.
