How to Evolve Smoliv in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Out of all the new Pokemon that have been introduced with the release of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, perhaps none are as charming as the olive Pokemon fittingly named Smoliv.

This cute and tiny Pokemon has one of the most straight forward yet logical evolution line. Smoliv, which is one olive, evolves into Dolliv, which consists of two olives. Finally, Dolliv evolves into Arboliva, which is an entire olive tree.

Fortunately, the entire evolution line is really easy to evolve, and all it takes is a little patience and dedication.

Where to find Smoliv

Similar to how the evolution of Smoliv is logical, so is its location. Smoliv can be found in the olive fields of Paldea in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, which means Area Two of the Southern Province of Paldea.

If you would rather directly catch Dolliv, then you’ll have to look for places that have a lot of flowers, such as:

• Tagtree Thicket 
• Glaseado Mountain 
• East Paldean Sea  (Island) 
• South Province’s Area Six

As for the third evolution form, Arboliva, the only way to get it in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is by evolving Dolliv, which means finding it in the wild is out of the question.

How to Evolve Smoliv into Dolliv

As mentioned above, both Smoliv and Dolliv are very easily evolved into their next form. To evolve Smoliv into Dolliv, all you need to do is get your Dolliv to level 25, after which it will naturally evolve into Arboliva without needing to meet any special requirements.

How to evolve Smoliv into Arboliva

Similarly, as soon as Arboliva reaches level 35, it will evolve into Arboliva. Again, this is without having to meet any specific requirements or using an item such as a leafstone.

As it has been with every Pokemon game, the most convenient way to level a Pokemon up is by battling wild and trainer Pokemon in order to farm experience. However, if you’re having issues or want to quicken up the process, then it’s possible to use EXP candies.

EXP candies can be earned by participating in Tera Raids battle events, which are symbolized by pillars of light reflecting off of crystals. The harder the raid, the better EXP candies you will get.
