How to Evolve Slakoth into Vigoroth and Slaking in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Have you ever heard of the term ‘lazy genius’? Well, that term was practically made for the Slakoth evolution line, especially Slaking who has the stats that would put a pseudo legendary at shame.

Seeing as how the Sakoth line hasn’t been present since the sixth generation of games, it’s really nice to see such an iconic Pokemon make a return. After all, who could remember fighting that beast of a Slaking that Norman, our character’s father had in Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire?

Although getting even one of these Pokemon in your team is a chore in itself, evolving them is as straightforward as it gets and requires only dedication and time.

How to Get Slakoth

Finding a Slakoth is much harder than it is evolving it. It’s so hard to find one that even its Pokedex entry states it’s difficult to find one. There are three main places you should go to when looking for one, those being:

• South Province Area One
• South Province Area Three
• South Province Area Five

This Pokemon is usually found hanging on trees and requires your legendary Pokemon to have the dash ability to knock them down, which unlocks when the player defeats Klawf.

There are certain ways to increase the chances of one spawning, such as having a picnic and eating the normal encounter increasing sandwich, but at the end of the day, it all depends on how lucky you are.

How to Evolve Slakoth into Vigorath and Slaking

After going through so much to catch a Slakoth, players will be happy to know that evolving this lazy Pokemon into the extremely powerful Vigorath is as easy as it gets. All you have to do is level it up to level 18 at which point it will evolve naturally.

Similarly, evolving Vigorath into Slaking requires you to level up your Vigorath to level 36, which is an acceptable requirement for such a strong Pokemon with the stats to rival legendary pokemons.

Although leveling up to achieve Slakoth’s final form should be fairly quick by grinding levels by battling wild and enemy Pokemon, if you want to speed things up then you can use EXP candies as well, which can be obtained by participating in Tera Raid Battle Events.

There are various star rankings given to these raids, and the higher the ranking, the better quality EXP candy you can expect when you complete it.

Although finding a Slakoth might be seen as tedious or too much work at the end of the day, it’s all worth it. As soon as you evolve it into the monster that is Slaking, even with the fact that it skips every second turn, you’ll realize how big of an asset you have on your team
