Every time a new Pokemon game comes out, there are many new Pokemon that come with it. With the release of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, the Pokemon Company keeps its streak of introducing Pokemon based on real world things with the pepper Pokemon, Capsakid.
While Capsakid might look like an ordinary grass Pokemon at first glance, you might notice that no matter how many times you level it up, it just doesn’t evolve. This is because this cute little Pokemon actually has a specific requirement that it has to meet before evolving.
When Capsakid does evolve into Scovillain, you might be in for a surprise.

Where to find Capsakid
Although Capsakid isn’t exactly a rare spawn in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, there are only three locations where it appears. Those locations are
- Asado Dessert
- West Province’s Area One
- South Province’s Area Two
If you want to catch a Scovillain directly, however, then that’s also a completely viable option. The evolution of Capsakid is found in mountainous areas, which means the four following areas are good places to look for it:
- Glaseado Mountain
- South Province’s Area Six
- North Province’s Area One
- North Province’s Area Two
How to evolve Capsakid into Scovillain
As mentioned above, no matter how much you level up the grass pepper Pokemon Capsakid, it won’t evolve. This is because the only way to evolve Capsakid into Scovillain is by using a firestone.
The evolution can be done at any time as long as you have a firestone in your inventory that you can use on your Capsakid, which can be at any level as there’s no minimum level requirement.
One thing to keep in mind before using a firestone is that using the firestone on Capsakid will consume it and you will have to get another one if you want to use it on a different Pokemon.
How to find firestone in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
Trainers have multiple ways of acquiring a firestone in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, although the easiest and most convenient method is definitely purchasing one for 3000 poke dollars from the Delibird Presents Shop, which could be found in the three main cities in Paldea. As soon as you defeat three gym leaders, the first generation evolution stones will be available for purchase.
Alternatively, it’s also possible to get firestones either as a reward for progressing in the Pokedex, or by finding it by a tree along the river that separates the North and East provinces in a Poke Ball node.
Stat comparison of Capsakid and Scovillain
Many players who go into Pokemon Scarlet and Violet don’t expect the cute pepper Pokemon to evolve into a fire and grass type hybrid double headed Pokemon, but we’re sure it must come as a pleasant surprise.
After all, Scovillain is a very diverse Pokemon, with it being able to learn both grass and fire type moves to get various type advantages against opponent Pokemon.
