How To Delete Save File
You can delete an old save file of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet by going to the System Settings in your Switch device. There are a small number of quick steps you can follow in order to get to find these settings for Pokemon Scarlet or Pokemon Violet.
- On the Main Menu of your Switch device, you can find the System Settings in the bottom right corner of your screen, next to the Power button icon.
- Scroll down on the left side until you find the Data Management section, right below the Internet settings. Click on that, and you’ll find an option for Delete Save Data at the bottom (don’t worry, clicking on it won’t immediately wipe all your files).

- After choosing Delete Save Data, you’ll be shown a list of all your games. You can select either Pokemon Scarlet or Pokemon Violet, depending on which game you want to delete the save for.
- You can either delete the data for all the profiles on your Switch (by pressing the Delete all save data for this software) or just the one currently logged in.
- After choosing, press Confirm, and that should delete your saved data. You can now start your Pokemon game with a clean slate!
Final Thoughts
Being able to delete your save file is a handy feature in Pokemon since you can try out multiple ways to play the game and its’ storyline. You can have a go at the infamous Nuzlocke challenge or set handicaps for yourself if you feel like the game wasn’t hard enough.
Just be careful when deleting your progress. If you’ve invested a lot of time in collecting and training Pokemon, starting a new game from another profile might be a good idea instead of deleting your own save file.
