Looking for Palworld Rayhound pals? There are over 100 types of Pals to collect so far in Pocketpair’s survival RPG, and knowing where to find them all and how to catch them isn’t always easy.

Here, we’re going to cover where the Palworld Rayhound pals are found, and how you can get them easily. If you’re looking for other pals too though, we’ve got you covered. Whether it’s just the Woolipop you’re after or something a bit more daunting like the Jormuntide, we’ve got guides to help you out.

Where are Rayhounds found in Palworld?

Rayhounds are a pal type native to the southern stretch of the Dessicated Desert, an island found to the northeast of the Palapagos Isles. They tend to roam in pairs, and are diurnal, sleeping at night. While the lowest plateaus of the island’s southern cliffs are a part of their habitat, they’re more abundant within the desert proper, which means you’ll need some heat-resistant clothing, armor, or accessories to safely hunt for them.

How to capture Rayhounds in Palworld

The Dessicated Desert is a pretty high-level area, and we’d recommend waiting until you’re at least nearing level 30 before you go on the hunt for any Rayhounds there. They’re pretty quick, with a variety of potent earth and lightning attacks at their disposal.

To capture them, we’d recommend bringing along some decent weapons like an upgraded crossbow or handgun, and some ground-type Pals as they will deal good damage against Rayhound. You’ll probably also want to get your hands on some pretty powerful pal spheres – we found that Hyper Spheres were the lowest tier we could feasibly catch a Rayhound with, and even then unreliably. Ideally, an Ultra Sphere or higher is best suited for the task.

What can Rayhounds do? Is it worth capturing them?

Rayhounds are electric-type Pals, and fast, four-legged mounts. They’ve got a level two in electricity generation, so are pretty useful for powering your larger bases, but that’s the only skill they possess. If you unlock and craft their associated saddle though, you can also ride them. This is well worth the effort, as they’re a pretty fast mount and have the ability to double-jump, helping them navigate difficult terrain. Be aware though that they’re pretty hungry creatures, and will require a decent amount of food to keep healthy. They can also drop Electric Organs, but given the challenging habitat and fight, they’re not really the best source of them.

Rayhound’s Strengths and Weaknesses

Rayhound is a pure electric-type Pal. This means that it is weak to ground-type Pals and attacks. This also means that Rayhound is strong against water-type Pals, being able to easily take down stronger water-types in the game.

That’s everything we’ve got for you on Palworld Rayhound pals. If you’re still getting to grips with the game, why not check out some of our other guides, too?
