Fuacks and Pengullets are two excellent early-game sources, and they can be found abundantly around lakes, rivers, and shorelines. Kelpsea pals are another decent source as well.

Lastly, you’ll need to farm bones. Again they’re a pal drop, so you’re going to want to go after pals which drop a lot of them consistently. A good choice are Goriat pals. They can be found commonly on the large island north of the starting archipelagos. Try heading to the Snowy Mountain Fork fast travel waypoint, and you’ll likely have no problem finding large groups of them. Direhowl pals are also a decent early game source of bones.
