How to upgrade weapons in Nightingale

Upgrading your weapons in Nightingale is easy. All you need is an upgrade bench, and to begin with, you will need a Simple Upgrade Bench. As you progress through the game, there will be higher-rarity benches to craft which will let you upgrade your higher-tier weapons. Once you have a Simple Upgrade Bench, all you need to do is interact with it and start upgrading your weapons.

You will need the following materials to build a Simple Upgrade Bench, all of which can be found without hassle when you start your adventure:

StructureMaterials needed
Simple Upgrade BenchLumber x4
Ingot x2
Twine x3

To find Lumber, you will need Wood Bundles and then take them to a Simple Saw Table. For Ingot, you will need to smelt Ore using a Simple Smelter. Twine is obtained from Fiber that you can refine at a Simple Spinning Wheel.

After you upgrade a weapon or a tool, you will enhance its Gear Score. This is a good way to boost your score early on to access more content. Essentially, a higher Gear Score translates to the weapon or tool having more power, meaning it does more damage when hitting foes and has better durability.

Upgrading a weapon Nightingale costs Essence, and this will vary depending on the rarity of the weapon. Increasing the level of a weapon will also change its rarity to the next tier, which in turn unlocks an Infusion slot on the upgraded weapon. Now you’ve got an Infusion slot, you can further upgrade your weapons with Infusions.

How to Infuse weapons in Nightingale

To Infuse a weapon with another trait, you need to craft an Enchanter’s Focus and an Infusion. Once again, there are different rarities when it comes to these craftable structures so to begin with, you will first have a Simple Enchanter’s Focus. If you have an Infusion in your inventory, you can apply it to a weapon.

To craft a Simple Enchanter’s Focus, you will need the materials we’ve listed in the table below. When you have a Focus, you can start putting any Infusions you have into your gear.

Before you can give a weapon an Infusion, it needs to be a higher rarity than Common. As explained, this is done by upgrading a Common-type weapon into the next rarity, which is Uncommon. Otherwise, you can find weapons in the world that are higher rarity.

If you need to find Glass, you will have to process any Gems you’ve collected at the Simple Smelter. Otherwise, the process for getting Lumber and Ingots is the same as we mentioned for making the Simple Upgrade Bench. Infusions come in two different forms. You can buy Infusion blueprints or receive them as a reward for clearing challenges.

Once you have the blueprint, you can craft the Infusion and apply it to your weapon. The second type of Infusion is found as a loot drop, and these look like small orbs in your inventory. These Infusion orbs have preset boons added to them and you can find a huge variety of them. We’ve found a fair few from looting chests and they are great additions to your gear.
