With such an astonishingly high price, you might want to know if the WWE 2K24 40 Years of Wrestlemania edition of the game is worth it.

You do get a ton of extra for getting this edition, but pre-ordering it doesn’t get you anything. This means you can buy this version of the game after release and not miss out on anything. But is the £105 price tag worth it?

Naturally, your opinion on this may vary. For more, read our guides covering all Undertaker’s Signature and Finishers, whether or not Charlie Dempsey is in this game and our WWE 2K24 review. Now, is WWE 2K24 40 Years of WrestleMania edition worth it?

What does the 40 Years of WrestleMania pack include?

As a step up from the Deluxe Edition, the 40 Years of WrestleMania pack contains even more content. This is the most expensive version of the game you can get, coming in at £105 on PS5 and Xbox. For comparison, the Deluxe edition costs £89.99.

The WrestleMania edition comes with all the content from the standard and deluxe versions, with more on top for good measure. This includes characters, skins, and much more. Let’s look at all the bonuses you get for the Deluxe and for pre-ordering the WWE 2K24 Forty Years of WrestleMania edition:

What comes with the WWE 2K24 Deluxe Edition?

  • Base Game
  • Nightmare Family Pack (unlocks playable character Stardust, Undashing Cody Rhodes, Dusty Rhodes 1976, and Superstar Billy Graham)
  • Season Pass
  • MyRISE Mega-Boost Pack and SuperCharger Pack.
  • Gold Rarity Rhea Ripley MyFaction Card
  • Gold Rarity Bianca Belair MyFaction Card
  • Alternate attires for Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley

40 Years of WrestleMania Edition:

  • All content from the Deluxe Edition
  • MyFaction Mattel Bruised Cody Rhodes Gold Rarity Card
  • MyFaction Pharaoh Gold Rarity manager card (Cody Rhodes’ dog)
  • Three days early access (March 5th)
  • Alternate attires:
    • Macho King Randy Savage (WrestleMania 6)
    • Rey Mysterio (WrestleMania 22)
    • Triple H (WrestleMania 30)
    • Charlotte Flair (WrestleMania 33)
    • Rhea Ripley (WrestleMania 36)
  • Instant unlocking of all playable Showcase stars
  • WrestleMania 40 arena (available post-launch)

As you can see, there is plenty to be gained if you buy the 40 Years of WrestleMania edition. With that said, there is perhaps too much included here that it’s unnecessary. Since these fighters will eventually be released as standalone DLC, you could wait until the time they become available. This is a good way to spend less, especially if getting the WrestleMania edition gives you things you’re not super interested in.

Perhaps most importantly, the Forty Years of WrestleMania arena mode that is being added to the game is not available yet. Buying this version of the game doesn’t let you access the 40 Years of WrestleMania Arena early, and it will be available in Summer 2024. It appears that the 40 Years of WrestleMania Arena mode will be available in all versions of the game.

Should you buy the WWE 2K24 40 Years of WrestleMania edition?

The way we see it, is you’re spending more money to play the game less, effectively. Getting the WrestleMania edition damn near unlocks everything for you from the start. While that might be appealing for many – as this enables you to play as other characters without having to unlock them – it seems like overkill to us.

Ultimately, we don’t think the £105 price tag is worth it, even for all the additions it brings. It doesn’t give you access to anything exclusive other than alternate attires, a bunch of – in my opinion, pointless – MyFaction stuff, and three days of early access.

Even if you wanted the characters, these are included in the standard and cross-gen editions by default since they come with the Nightmare Family pack. Furthermore, DLC characters will be released as standalone downloads later on. Due to this, and considering the standard base game edition costs £59.99, you should save your money unless you absolutely must have these extras.

With so much you can unlock in-game, wouldn’t you rather spend time playing the game instead of skipping a bunch of content just by paying more upfront?

The decision of is WWE 2K24 40 Years of WrestleMania edition the worth it is entirely up to you. For more, make sure you read our guides covering how to drag opponents and how to Cash-in a MITB match.
