How to Cash in the Money in the Bank Briefcase

Once you’ve set up your MITB match and you’ve set the briefcase to appear on the show with the champion you want to face, you will be ready to Cash in Money in the Bank. There are three ways to Cash during a Money in the Bank match. These are as follows:

  • Announce cash-in
  • Surprise cash-in
  • Post-match cash-in

You can perform the Announce cash-in method while you are selecting the parameters of the match against the current champion. There will be an option to ‘Announce Cash-in’ when you select the match in Universe Mode show section.

This will be the most basic and easiest way to Cash in Money in the Bank. When you do this, the match you are setting up will be a fight between the champion and the person who has the Money in the Bank briefcase.

Surprise Cash-in

The surprise Cash-in option in WWE 2K24 will let your challenger with the briefcase enter the ring as a surprise attacker. You need to choose a match where the champion you’re fighting is part of, then select the ‘Cash-in’ option in the menu. This will Cash-in the MITB briefcase during the match. What this means is you will have the character who has the MITB briefcase ambush the current fight, turning it into a Triple Threat match.

Post-match Cash-in

The final way you can cash in during Money in the Bank is to do it after the match ends. When you do this, you will see an option to trigger the Money in the Bank cash-in once the bout is over. This effectively lets you burst into the ring at the end of a match to surprise the champion and try to grab the title while they’re weak.

How to set up a Money in the Bank (MITB) match

Before you can do any of this, you will need to first set up and start a Money in the Bank match. You can do this by going through the following steps:

  • Enter Universe Mode.
  • Go to Manage Superstar, then Create a Match, then when on the superstar selection screen, press R3 to set it to a Championship match. Double-check on the settings (Triangle) that MITB matches are active (they won’t be faded out), and make sure the current MITB holder is one of the superstars involved in the bout.
  • Then, when finalising the match, select the MITB Match Type, rather than Championship.
  • Once again, select the Money in the Bank match, accept, and proceed.
  • Now, your next match should feature the Money in the Bank symbol.

With that, you will now need to win the Money in the Bank briefcase. This involves setting up a ladder in the middle of the arena, climbing it, and then performing a mini-game, without being disrupted by your opponents. Win the briefcase and you’ll be all set.
