  • The Sternness of Stone can be used to unlock new areas from the Crouching Tiger Temple and the gate near the Rat King and Second Prince boss room in the Village.

As you make your way into Chapter 2, you’ll find a few interactable objects around the Crouching Tiger Temple. These objects require an item to open them. If you don’t have it, you get the prompt Required: Streness of Stone. Another door will also ask for the Keenen of Tiger. These key items are locked behind two Chapter 2 bosses in Black Myth Wukong that you need to defeat. Here’s everything you need to know on how to get the Sterness of Stone and Keened of Tiger.

How to get the Keenness of Tiger

The Keenness of Tiger is the simplest of the two to get. You’ll find the Tiger boss at the top of Crouching Tiger Temple.

  1. From the village, proceed through, and take the right when you enter the defender area of the central village. From there, you will turn right and enter the boss arena where you fight the Rat King and Second Prince Boss.
  2. Defeat the rat king, get the new wayshrine, and then enter the cave system.
  3. Proceed through the cave system, avoiding the ranged enemies. You’ll find a crack in the wall to shimmy through.
  4. Inside you’ll fight a bat creature. You can then take an exit outside.
  5. The road takes you to the base of the Crouching Tiger Temple with a shrine to rest at.
  6. At the top of the Corching Tiger Temple is a tiger boss.
  7. Defeating the Tiger boss gives you the Keeness of Tiger.

With that item acquired, it is now time to move onto the Sterness of Stone.

Here is a closer look at the Black Myth Wukong Sterness of Stone item, which you get from the Stone Vanguard boss.

Where to find the Sterness of Stone

To get the Sterrness of Stone, players need to progress through the next area in Windrest Bridge and Hamlet.

  1. Descend down the Crouching Tiger Temple:
  2. Activate the Windrest Bridge way shrine
  3. Proceed through the area in a linear way.
  4. Enter the large town and fight the enemies inside. You’ll then come across a large gate in the distance with three imperial ninjas guards on the roof of the gate.
  5. Defeat the guards, then you open the gate.
  6. On the other side of the gate is the Wind Rest Hamlet
  7. Proceed through once again down the linear path. There are more guards, and ranged enemies around the pathways and inside the cave.
  8. Along the bridge is a mini-boss you must fight near the tornado.
  9. Go through and enter the cave.
  10. Descend the cave so you go down
  11. Jump over the gap into the new area.
  12. You’ll rumble on the floor. Approaching it will activate a boss battle against the Sone Vanguard
  13. Defeat the Stone Vanguard

The area is fairly long, with some new guard enemies to fight. You’ll then enter a large village/hamlet, and fight more imperial guards and other enemy rats. Be careful with these areas as they are somewhat mob-dense and large. Feel free to explore them for other goodies, and chest loot.

As you progress, you’ll come across a bridge with a boss so be careful of the area. The boss isn’t too hard to beat, but it does combo a lot and is fairly aggressive. Feel free to immobilize it a few times to put pressure on the creature.

Once that’s through, you now need to progress into the cave. There are a few enemies you can easily ignore here if you want to. Descend down the cave, and you’ll find the Stone Vanguard. You cannot skip this boss to reach the Shrine just to the left.

The boss is a large creature, with slow yet well-telegraphed attacks and jump attacks. There’s also a slam down with spikes that appear around him in an area. It is similar to the Noble fight in that regard. During the double fist ground spike skill, roll back twice to be safe. Everything is dodge before it crashes down on you with its fists or body slams. The boss can do a rock throw, that spawns other rock bros to jump at you. They’ll die after they land though so just keep dodging. The boss also has a lot of defence and health, because it is a golem after all. So, continue to chip away at the block and trade smartly to avoid its devastating, yet slow moves.

Once the boss is defeated, you will automatically acquire the Sterness of Stone.

Where can you use the Sterness of Stone

The Sterness of Stone can be used at the following locations

  • Crouching Tiger Temple.
  • Valley of Despair wayshrine.

If you go to the Valley of Despair Wayshrine, you can open the gate where you battled the Rat King and second prince. This unblocks a large area, with two more bosses inside. You can also find more NPCs if you did the red wolf and the old man stuff. The red wolf is under the village and wants you to beat the yellow frog boss. The old man was early on in Chapter 1.

There’s also a mini-game that lets you use more of the key items you’ve been picking up in Chapter 2.

If you go to the Crouching Temple first, you’ll descend down the temple. There’s another mini-boss for a spirit down here among other lootables. It will eventually lead d you to the same wayshrine you find when finding the Wolf NPC, the same as the other direction. If he’s there for you, you unlock the ability to craft Celestial Medicines, offering huge boosts for your build and playstyle.

You’ll need to access this area to defeat the end boss of Chapter 2. So, feel free to continue exploring after defeating the Stone Vanguard. There are other secrets to
