As you explore the early part of Black Myth Wukong, you’ll find Mind Cores. Upon reading their description, you’ll find that they allow you to craft Celestial Medicines. However, it’s unclear how you craft them immediately. We’ll teach you how to get and unlock Celestial Medicines in Black Myth Wukong.
How to craft Celestial Medicines
To craft Celestial Medicines, progress to Chapter 2 until you meet the wolf NPC in the Village cave area. Speak to him, then kill the yellow frog boss by the water to get a recipe that you can take to the wolf . From there, he will say he is off to find a brazier and disappear.
That brazier is underneath the Crouching Tiger Temple. The temple is an area that you will naturally come across after progressing through the village as part of the main story line. Complete the main story line through village then into the Temple.
After that, you’ll have a more mob-dense area to explore called Windrest. After beating Windrest, and a few bosses along the way, you’ll reach a large desert sandpit area. Here, beat the boss called the Stone Vanguard. Defeating the boss drops you a key item called the Sterness of Stone. This item can be used to open the large gate in the villager where you fought the main boss. It can also be used on a pedestal at the top of the Crouching Tiger Temple. It doesn’t matter which way you go.
Once you have the Sterness of Stone, you’ll unlock a new area at the base of the temple, no matter which entry method you choose. At the back of the cave at the bottom of the temple, you’ll find a brazier, approach it, and the wolf should appear from behind a barrel.
You can now speak to the wolf NPC, who becomes a crafter for you to make medicines. You can craft Celestial Medicine using Mind Cores acquired from bosses and quests. Depending on what you want to upgrade, you will need 1-3 Mind Cores for each upgrade.
All Celestial Medicines in Black Myth Wukong
There are quite a few Celestial Medicines that you can make. These essentially serve as attribute points you’d find in other Souls-like games. You’ll need Mind Cores to craft each upgrade. You’ll get them for defeating certain bosses, completing quests, or completing chapters:
Celestial Medicine | Effect | Cost |
---|---|---|
Jade Lotus Pill | Increase HP by 15 | 3 Mind Cores |
Taiyi Pill | Increases max mana by 10 | 2 Mind Cores |
Nonary Pill | Increases max stamina by 10 | 2 Mind Cores |
No-Mind Medicament | Increases Defense by 5 | 1 Mind Core |
Iron Bull Pill | Increases Stamina Recovery Rate by 3 | 1 Mind Core |
Yang Supplementing Pill | Increases Chill resistance by 2 | 1 Mind Core |
Water Jade Pill | Increases Burn resistance by 2 | 1 Mind Core |
Bloom Seed Decoction | Increases Poison Resistance by 2 | 1 Mind Core |
Wujin Pill | Increases Chock resistance by 2 | 1 Mind Core |
We recommend spending your Mind Cores on upgrading your Health and Mana. Health is generally fantastic as it means you can take a bit more punishment. Not to mention that it scales with your drinks and soaks. Most drinks have percentage healing, so you generally want to buff those healing kits, too.
The other good option is mana, as more mana upgrades eventually allow you to cast more spells. Check the mana cost of the spells in the spell list at a shrine to determine how many times you need to upgrade the mana before you get an extra cast of your favourite spell. Feel free to get the mana restore perks for spells from relic upgrades, or from the craftable gear set to get a functional spell build working.
Celestial Medicine Locations
You can find Celestial Medicines by exploring the world, too. They are often found inside chests. In Chapters 2 and 3, you can find quite a lot of explorable areas that you don’t necessarily need to visit, which often contain chests. Here are some examples of places you can visit to get more Celestial Medicines. You’ll also find a few in the main story linear areas of each chapter, such as the following:
Celestial Medecine | Location |
---|---|
Celestial Taiyi Pill | Found in a chest by a ledge in the wooden pagoda. Go through the cave after beating White Claw Noble boss, then go down the large wooden structure to loot the chest. |
Celestial Nonary Pill | Inside a chest found as you make your way up the Black Wind Mountain. It’s guarded by fire archer wolves. Go to Bodhi Peak and then slightly down the hill to reach it. |
Celestial Nonary Pill 2 | Enter the Valley of Despair cave in Chapter 2. Enter the shimmy spot, then smash the barricade down to reach a secret room. Kill the bat enemies inside and then loot the chest at the back of the room. |
Celestial Jade Lotus Pill | Inside the Crouching Tiger Temple. You need the Sterness of Stone to unlock the chest. |
You should now have a better idea of how to get your hands on Celestial Medicines in Black Myth Wukong. You’ll want to use these Medicines to improve your character as some of the bosses do get harder as you progress. It’s also handy for numerous builds, such as increasing mana consistently to get an extra spell cast through long and tough boss battles.
