How to Get Bones in Sons Of The Forest
As logic dictates, human-sized bones come from humans, or at least human-like living creatures. You can see where this is going: getting bones involves some killing. Now living, breathing humans that aren’t eager to make you their next meal are in short supply on the island, so you’ll have to turn to either cannibals or mutants for your Sons Of The Forest bones needs.
We recommend scouting out small packs of two or three mutants out in the forest or visiting a small cannibal camp. These tend to pose the least danger and allow you to go in, kill, and get out without getting into too much trouble.
So, how does getting bones work in Sons Of The Forest? First, kill a mutant or cannibal. Approach the corpse and tap the E button to pick it up. Carry it to a fire, then toss it into the flames. A standard fire pit will do the job.
Let the body catch fire and burn to a crisp. After a little wait, the body will disappear, leaving a pile of bones and usually a skull for you to loot. Rinse and repeat as needed. Aim at the bones and tap E to add them to your inventory as you would any other lootable item.
With bones, you can start crafting gear like Bone Armor or furniture like the Bone Chair and Bone Chandelier.
