How to solve the Slytherin’s Door puzzle
To open the Slytherin’s Door in Hogwarts Legacy, you’ll need to use a fire spell like Incendio or Confringo to light all three braziers in the hallway near the door. This needs to be done fast and in quick succession. We recommend starting with the brazier on the left of the door, then moving to the one on the right, and then dashing to the third brazier further down the corridor.
You’ll encounter the locked door as part of Sebastian’s questline, specifically a quest you get at level 16 or above called In the Shadow of the Study. Starting the quest leads you down below the castle where you’ll meet an NPC called Ominis that hints at three braziers needed to unlock the puzzle fashioned by the famous Salazar Slytherin.
Note that the In the Shadow of the Study quest isn’t tied to choosing a specific house during the sorting ceremony, so regardless of whether you picked Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, Slytherin, or Gryffindor, you’ll be able to play the quest.

Opening the door leads you down a flight of stairs and then to another set of puzzles, this time involving Serpent Doors, where you need to match up the symbol on the doors with their mechanisms. Press on into the Slytherin Scriptorium and you’ll eventually unlock the Cruciatus curse.
